Adalyn's First ride

She talked a while before falling asleep, it is hard to say if she really liked it but she didn't hate it cause' she didn't cry. I guess time will tell......

Hanging out at the sale

We bundled Adalyn up for the horse sale at Boone county, one of our nannies(Dad) watched her and Charleigh while Ben and I rode the horses before the sale and in the ring, Uncle Al was there too helping Dad with the girls. There were several women flocking around them at the sale, the girls were catching their eye more than the horses selling. Can you blame them? Look at how stinking cute these girls are!

At the Sale

We trained the Buckskin that Ben is on for a couple weeks for a guy and then he hired us to ride him and the bay in the ring as well.
Grandpa told Charleigh that she needed a black hat for winter, which she kept repeating back to us, then one day she remembered that her daddy gave her this one and she said "that be perfect!"

Horse Trainer

Poor Jasper, Charleigh treats him like a wild horse she is training. Dad trained a horse this summer named "Mikey" and ever since Charleigh wants to play "Mikey" It goes like this..... Either she is a crazy horse and we have to rope her and train her, we are the crazy horse and she puts a rope on us and rides on our back and trains us, or she puts a rope on Jasper the dog and talks to him like she is training a horse. She came in the other day from dragging Jasper around and said "Mama, my horse is doing very good, but him bucked me off." And she is constantly running her stick horse around, yelling at him "Mikey this and Mikey that!" I cringe at the sound of that stick horse clacking across the hardwood floor, I know that a wild horse and a crazy cowgirl are beginning a training session!

First State Fair

This was the first year at the fair for Adalyn, she slept most of the time, the weather was cool not typical of August in Missouri.

The petting zoo 2009

Charleigh loved feeding all of the animals all by herself this year.

The peting zoo is always a must at the Missouri State Fair. We had to tell her a little white lie and say that the camel they use for camel rides bucked somebody off, so she wouldn't want to ride. I know I am terrible ......

Draft Horse Show
