The Pirate House.

Charleigh wanted to go up this thing. It was like a fun house/ jungle gym. It had bridges and slides and the one thing we didn't notice: a rope ladder that she had to climb up. She did a good job climbing up, it took her much longer than the big kids liked, but she made it to the top and getting over the last hump was very difficult for her. She didn't have anything to hang onto and she was afraid to let go. This little girl turned around and took a long time helping her until she had made it all the way up. It was a good thing she did because all of the little kids were all but climbing over her like they were in the amazing race, Ben and I were getting worried about her and that we might have to go up and get her down. The Carnie sure wasn't going to go save the day. So she made it up the rope ladder, smooth sailing from here...... or so we think. The bridges moved under her and she was scared when he looked down. She would put her foot on and begin to go across and then she would turn around and call out for us. There began to be a traffic jam of kids at the bridge, still the Carnie was of no help. We kept trying to yell up to her that it was alright, but she couldn't hear us. Finally she went across (all of the way without turning around) when she got to the other side she was cheering and clapping for herself, she was so proud, then there was another one, one crisis after another. This time she had no problem and found the slide to slide down. She loved the slide and when she got to the bottom(30 minutes after she first began) she said "again" she wanted to do it all again. .......... OH NO, NO, NO, she was fine but we were exhausted!

Just starting out, things are going good.

NOWAY JOSE! She kept second guessing this bridge, IT DID NOT SEEM SAFE, it was moving and shaking, she wanted no part of it even after she saw the other kids make it across safely.

She was so proud of herself for making it across the bridge all by herself!

just when she thought she was finished, she wasn't. She held on with a death grip to the ropes on the edges.

finally the slide at the end! Boy were we glad that we didn't have to climb up there and get her.

More rides....

The house of mirrors was funny, Charleigh kept running into the wall . She got help from another girl, who took her hand and lead her through.

Dare Devil.

Charleigh kept wanting to ride this roller coaster, but Ben and I watched it and we were not sure if she was big enough for it. She kept begging and she was just tall enough( well about 1 inch short) but they let her on and she sat next to a boy who was less than thrilled that he had to ride with a little girl! She laughed and smiled the entire time she even put her hands in the air like the big kids did. The second time she rode this ride was a bit of a different story.

Coaster Baby.

This is the second time she rode the roller coaster, the first time around the track she turned purple from holding her breath in fear. She looked so scared, we were worried about her but by the time she saw us waving at her she remembered to breath and had a good time the rest of the ride. She is our little dare devil.

Until Next year...

Heading home after another long day at the fair. It is always so sad when it is over.

We bought a dairy cow...

..... to save money on milk and other dairy products. In my spare time I now make cheese, ice cream and pasteurize the milk. Super simple.

Good Friends....

We were suprised to see some of our friends at the fair on a week night, we spent the rest of the evening catching up and indulging in fair food. We had a great time watching our girls play as we listned to the concerts at the play ground. Emma is the younger one and Courtney is the oldest. (Courtney was our flower girl)

This is a horse head carved out of wood, Charleigh wanted to offer it some of the fresh squeezed lemon-ade we had.
